Airbnb Inc. said this week that women aged 60 and older are ranked as the best hosts on the home-sharing platform. Overall, the senior demographic is the fastest-growing category of hosts, as retirees look to bring in extra income and may have an empty house, the company said.
On the platform, hosts and users rate each other using a five-star system. Women in the 60 years old and up demographic have the highest percentage of five-star ratings. These listings are most often for a private room in a home, rather than an entire home, the study found.
